Sisters in Spirit are Sisters for Life
There is little within my adult life that has been accomplished without the support and encouragement of my best friend; my sister in spirit, Terri.
From stepping up to the plate as my shelter from the storm after divorce years ago, which included becoming a co-parent of sorts to my young son, Sean, to late nights of girly make-over's followed by pie and coffee at the local Lyon's restaurant, Terri has watched over my heart for over twenty-fours years. Instinctively, like a mother lioness, she seems to have an intuitive sense of what I need at any given moment and never fails to fulfill that need if it's within her power to do so.
Of course, I can be...well, to use a southern term, a "caution", seemingly getting myself into all kinds of hot water as I've climbed out onto many a limb for causes I felt worthy of my voice, effort and tenacity over the years, but she would usually giggle and then go to work figuring out how to smooth the wake behind me. For a period of time she was actually my boss -- a true challenge for her I knew -- but with a smile only she could toss and a gentle, "Now Rosie... " I knew that she was about to rein me in while at the same time, never dampening my spirit. The woman has true talent and the patience of a thousand angels.
As it often happens when our lives become crowded with responsibilities and commitments that distance us from those we care about, we forget to acknowledge the special meaning they have brought to our lives and time is reluctant to place itself on hold until we catch up. And, while as sisters in spirit I know she understands that such distance could never hinder the ties that bind us, failing to acknowledge her first and foremost on the pages of this new and exciting personal walk within Girl On Point would be an injustice, for I am what she has helped me to become and will remain forever grateful.
While you needn't build a web site to thank those closest to you, I hope you'll take a moment to make that connection with a phone call or simple note. Tell 'em Rosie sent you.
At the heart of every friendship there are three:
Respect
Trust and
Understanding.

If you see a leaf stuck to my wall, it's probably real; hanging from a newly formed spider web replacing the one I just vacuumed down the week before. It's a blessing actually since I'm stencil-deficient too. So there you have it. When it comes to crafts, I'm more of a Mabel than a Martha ... continued
